Chile–Croatia relations are foreign relations between Chile and Croatia. Both countries established diplomatic relations on April 15, 1992. Chile has an embassy in Zagreb and honorary consulates in Rijeka and Split. Croatia has an embassy in Santiago and honorary consulates in Antofagasta and Punta Arenas. The Senate of Chile has awarded Croatian President Stjepan Mesić an order of merit, to honor the improvement of bilateral relations between Croatia and Chile. While representing Chile, senate vice president Baldo Prokurica stated that he found areas for stronger collaboration in future in oil and gas research and shipyards and he expressed an interest in Chilean students' having scholarships in Croatia. It is officially accepted that there are up to 380,000 Chileans of Croatian descent (who clearly identify themselves as Chilean-Croats).〔 (Croatian Chilean. )〕〔(Splitski osnovnoškolci rođeni u Čileu. )〕 Even though the number may be much higher with some demographic analysts estimating a figure of 750,000.〔 (Croatas en Chile. )〕 == See also ==
